At first I thought we got off track last night with our discussion on predestination. But then I realized that our questions are key to what the chapter was talking about. The author says that one of the things that is key to us having that blind faith, that getting into the wheelbarrow kind of faith, is knowing God's character." And God's character is what we were talking about in our discussion. <br />This is the song I was going to share with you last night. A friend of mine wrote it to teach God's character to children. It's to the tune of Yankee Doodle Dandy.<br /><strong>God is sovereign,</strong><br /><strong>God is righteous,</strong><br /><strong>God is love and justice.</strong><br /><strong>He's always been</strong><br /><strong>and He knows all things</strong><br /><strong>and never, never changes.</strong><br /><strong>God is everywhere I am</strong><br /><strong>and He has all power.</strong><br /><strong>And on top of all of this</strong><br /><strong>He is all truth forever.</strong><br />It's because of all the things God is that I can accept the fact that He chooses, draws, predestines, whatever you want to call it. It's part of His being sovereign, being in charge. But He's not just sovereign, He's not some mean dictator up in the sky making us do His will. He's also love, he's also fair. He knows everything - I don't.<br />Linda Dillow says that believing God is sovereign is important to having the kind of faith that leads to total trust and contentment no matter what happens. Yet we have questions about how that sovereignty works in our life and in the salvation of those we love.<br />How do you reconcile God's sovereignty with our choices?
